TAG Heuer ladies and men watches elevate swiss watches timekeeping to an art.

Recognised the world over for both craftsmanship and accuracy, Swiss watches are synonymous with luxury watches… and within this remarkable universe, TAG Heuer timepieces stand as the peak achievement in watchmaking. With progressive designs and technological innovation, they represent more than mere sports watches or luxury timepieces – they embody a class apart.

Indeed, TAG Heuer chronograph watches stand alone as the summit of Swiss watch timekeeping accuracy. In a sublime union of speed and precision, the company is the official partner of Oracle Team USA – champion of the America’s Cup – and of renowned Formula 1 car manufacture McLaren. In addition, its luxury sport watches serve as the official timekeepers of the Monaco Grand Prix – one of the most illustrious races in the world.

Timelessly elegant yet decidedly modern, a TAG Heuer watch combines hand workmanship with the best in cutting-edge technology, for ladies’ and men’s watches representing rich heritage, distinctive quality and novel developments. With automatic watches that feature high frequencies between 21,600 and 360,000 vibrations per hour (as with the Calibre 360), exceptional mechanical accuracy is not the exception, but the rule. As such, numerous automatic watch movements by TAG Heuer boast the respected Official Swiss Chronometer Control (C.O.S.C.) certificate.

From an aesthetic standpoint, TAG Heuer timepieces are no less remarkable. These luxury Swiss watches bring together a perfect union of premium materials selected and crafted by expert specialists. By combining the very best traditional materials, like lustrous gold, resistant steel, supple calfskin or the finest alligator leather, or by accentuating them with the latest modern innovations, such as state-of-the-art rubber and textiles, TAG Heuer erases the lines between the conventional perceptions of sports and luxury watches. Quality finishes that include black PVD finish, delicate brushing and ruthenium coating are as distinguished as they are inventive, and as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical.

Equally outstanding are TAG Heuer swiss watches for women – the perfect embodiment of discrete sophistication. Its diamond watches, for instance, bring a hint of dazzling femininity to the legendary men’s watch models on which the TAG Heuer name was built: the Monaco, the Aquaracer, the TAG Heuer Carrera, the Link and the TAG Heuer Formula 1. Stylish ladies’ timepieces boasting sumptuous materials and restrained lines, these feats of watchmaking perpetuate the expert artistry and flawless precision that have marked the brand’s identity for over one hundred years.

Visually beautiful, unequivocally dependable, perfectly fashioned, elegantly avant-garde…TAG Heuer watches go far beyond luxury or precision timepieces; they are the summit in Swiss skill and expertise, thrust boldly forward into the unknown to redefine swiss ladies and men watches.

21 Jan. 50 years Carrera

TAG Heuer invites the many fans of one of its most iconic watch lines to visit the special “50 YEARS OF CARRERA” event at the Sécheron Hall in Geneva, Switzerland, from January 21 to January 24.

The dynamic, design-led exhibition, which explores the Carrera’s aesthetic origins in the architecture, industrial design, art and fashion of the 1960s, is part of a year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the mythic line of motorsports-inspired watches and chronographs.

“The idea behind the exhibit is to give visitors a chance to see the Carrera in the full context of the fervent creativity from which it emerged,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, TAG Heuer President and CEO. “For die-hard fans of the time--and its most iconic timepiece-- it’s a must-see.”

Presented inside the restored, early-20th century Sécheron Hall in a purpose-built architectural space reflecting the minimalist design tastes of the epoch, the 50 YEARS OF CARRERA event showcases specially commissioned artworks, iconic furniture and a full historical range of Carrera timepieces.

Sources of inspiration include the artistic creations of Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Peter Blake, John Baldessari and Robert Indiana. Another is the famous “Carrera Panamericana Mexico Road Race” -- the favorite open-road challenge of the brand’s longtime friend Juan-Manuel Fangio.

Created by Jack Heuer in 1963, Carrera remains the standard-bearer of TAG Heuer’s unrivaled motorsports pedigree. Designed to meet the specific needs of professional drivers-- tough, uncluttered, easy-to-read--the Carrera draws from a range of innovative ideas for its breakthrough design. The specific codes of motor-racing are well represented -- the look of vintage dashboard counters, for example, and the perforated leather gloves favored by Juan-Manuel Fangio and his contemporaries. So, too, is early 60s modernism: the geometric purity of Oscar Niemeyer’s new architecture; the curving, sensual lines of an Eero Saarinen building or chair; and the clean, uncluttered aesthetics of Pop-Art.

In 1996, TAG Heuer relaunched the line with the TAG Heuer Carerra Chronograph, one of the bestselling timepiece’s in the brand’s history. Since, the line has seen several upgrades. Its pure, modernist aesthetic has graced many of the brand’s most avant-garde creations, including the TAG Heuer Mikrogirder, which won the coveted “Aiguille d’or” (Swiss Watch of the Year )at Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix ceremonies last November.
